Daithi Brooks - Irish bagpiper RIP

Our highly popular bagpiper Dave Brooks (Daithi) recently passed away. He will be greatly missed both as a great musician and with a personality to match. We are most honoured and grateful to have been associated with Dave for many years and extend our deepest sympathy to his family.

Just to let you know that Daithi did a great job and I certainly felt glad to have employed him for the service. I received a lot of feedback on how fitting the pipes were. Thanks a million for your help. Please pass on my compliments to the man himself".

"Thank you so much for organising such an amazing Irish Piper as Daithi for my dad’s funeral last *****day (** December 2016) – and at such short notice! As the cortege entered the grave yard Daithi stood respectfully at the top on the outer parameter waiting for us to approach and then led us along the path down to the grave site while playing. He then played after my father’s internment. It was truly beautiful and everyone said it made the hairs on the back of their neck stand on end it was so symbolically ceremonial and touching. After speaking to Daithi prior to the funeral to arrange which music we’d like, he just sorted everything else himself like an absolute professional. I was worried when I didn’t immediately see him knowing he had traveled so far and that I didn’t even know the route the cortege would take through the graveyard. Daithi had everything under control on the day and knew exactly what he was doing. I can’t thank him enough. I just hope his return journey from Brighouse in West Yorkshire to London wasn’t too arduous in the same day. Thank you both so much for facilitating me the honour to give my father the respectful send off he deserved. I won’t hesitate to recommend your services again".

Choice of tunes?

Once your booking is fully confirmed and your deposit paid, our piper will call you to discuss the schedule for the day and the tunes to be played.

He will also be able to help with suggestions where needed on the various tunes he can play and help with suggestions if required.

Where requested (and time permitting), he will learn a specifically requested tune by you, to play on the day.

Does he wear a kilt?

All of our bagpipers wear the uniform befitting the occasion.

If it's an Irish bagpiper he'll wear full Irish regalia including kilt and likewise for a Scottish bagpiper.

This greatly augments the sense of occasion provided by a bagpiper at a funeral or a wedding. Bagpiper FAQs.
